She was proud of graduating Westchester Community College as an X-ray technician. She enjoyed working as a technician.

Amalia was active in the Westchester chapter of the DAV and served in many different positions. Since living at the Bath VA CLC she has been active in the Bath DAV chapter.

Amalia has been a resident of CLC for over 20 years. She was known as Ms Amalia, sis, mama, and the mayor of Bath VA. She was very active in all activities that occurred on base. She was an avid bingo player, she enjoyed bowling and had many metals she won in the competitions. Her greatest pride was having the highest score in WII bowling competitions. She loved arts and crafts and shared her painted sun catcher’s with many. She was proud to be an advocate for all the residents on the floor. For several years she was the Bath High School’s best cheerleader during varsity football games. She enjoyed spending time with residents and their families. She was thankful for all the staff at the VA.  All of you have truly been her family and she loved many of you!

Amalia has been a follower of Jesus Christ her whole life and her relationship with Him has always been important to her. She has been very active at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath. She loved bible study and singing at church weekly. She shared her faith with many of the residents and their families.

Her biggest love was Elvis and his music. It was her generation that provided us with the gospel hymns and rock n roll music. She enjoyed everything Elvis and is now dancing in heaven with him.

She has touched so many lives over her Blessed 78 years. She will be missed by many. Please come celebrated her life on Oct. 9th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Graveside taps will be at 11 a.m. at the Bath VA cemetery.
