Norma P. (Saltsman) George of Bath, NY passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019 at the age of 75.

Norma P. (Saltsman) George of Bath, NY passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019 at the age of 75. She was born on March 23, 1944, one of nine children of Ernest and Mary Saltsman. 

Norma was the wife of 49 years to Richard A. George, who passed earlier this month. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Michael George, her daughter and son-in-law, Lyana and Casey Wood, one sister, Aletha Smith, sisters-in-law Marge Saltsman, Lucy, Saltsman, Caroline Saltsman, and Ruth George, She loved her grandchildren Meghan (Thomas) Seaman, David, Eric, Thomas and Michael George, and Israel and Isaiah Wood very much and will be greatly missed by them. She also leaves four great-grandchildren: Ellie, Abigail, Ayden, and Elijah, as well as three generations of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Richard, in 1977 and her first husband, William Richard Lautner, in 1963. She was also predeceased by her six brothers James, Richard (Dick), John, her twin Norman (Chuck), Ernest Jr. (Pee Wee), and Edward, her sister, Roberta, as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Through changing relationships over the years she always considered the mothers of her grandchildren, Traci Polmanteer and Lisa Weidenhammer, to be as daughters to her.

Norma was a talented seamstress and artisan, having been recruited more than once to make a wedding dress for a family member. She will be forever missed by this family as well as by friends old and new and the staff at Fred and Harriett Taylor’s Nursing Facility, where she and her husband had resided for the past year and a half.
