Roger Wesley Utter, 83 of Thomasville, NC died March 24, 2021 surrounded by loving family.

Roger was born October 4, 1937 to Emerson Swartz and Ruth (Baker)

Utter of Hammonspirt, NY. After graduating from Hammondsport Central School he enlisted in the Navy serving 4 years.on the LST 1167 USS Westchester County. He was employed as a draftsman for 18 years at American Bridge in Elmira NY and at Triad Steel in Thomasville, NC. In 1961 he met his beloved Barbara , marrying in 1965. His family meant more than anything else to him. Roger was a passionate Oldsmobile enthusiast, being a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America. He was often found in the garage or race track , enjoying sporting events, or telling stories to family. He was a member of the

Unity United Methodist Church. All who knew him knew he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was predeceased by parents E. Swartz and Ruth Utter , infant sister Cheryl , sister-in-law Janice(Dale), and brother- in -law, Myron Turner. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters Leslie Rowland,

Jeanne (Gary) Leonard, Jennifer Morgan and son Roger W. Utter II, 6 Grandchildren -Elissa(Scottie), Chris, Brandon(Harlie), Amanda(Wayne), Daniel(Brooke), Mackenzie; 8 great grandchildren ;, Siblings

Gary (Sharon), Dale, David (Barb), Donna (Roger "Pat")Wright, Charlene (Tom) Carlson, Terry Turner, Cynthia Comfort, Kim (John) Potter.

and many neices and nephews. Family requests donations be made to Disabled Veterans of America.

A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Free Life Assembly Of God Church in Thomasville, NC.
