George Edward Boyce

Hammondsport - August 21, 1938 - August 27, 2021

George Edward Boyce, 83, passed peacefully on August 27, 2021.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, a daughter Kathi (Michael), a son Daniel and two granddaughters, Sara and Lillian.

George was born in Flemington, PA and moved to Hammondsport, NY in 1965 to begin work with Hammondsport Central Schools where he spent his entire career teaching Social Studies and working as a Guidance Counselor.

Mr. Boyce was actively involved volunteering for various community organizations serving as a member of the Hammondsport Village Board, the Jaycees, and various committees at the state level for the National Education Association and New York State United Teacher's Union. He served as Police Commissioner, Water Commissioner, Fire Commissioner, and as both Emergency Medical Technician and dispatcher for Hammondsport Ambulance Corp. He was a member of the Hammondsport United Methodist Church and after retiring to Murrells Inlet, SC became a member of the Surfside United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Mr. Boyce's Life will be held 11:00 AM Friday September 3, 2021 at Surfside United Methodist Church, Surfside Beach, SC. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bath, NY.
