Doris M. Edwards

Doris M. Edwards, 91 went to be with our Lord on Nov. 23, 2021. She was born in Brighton, NY on July 16, 1930 and lived most of her life in Steuben County. The last four years she resided with her daughter in Corning. Doris graduated from Avoca Central School in1948.

She is predeceased by her parents Etta (Lehman) Howie Cobin and Arthur Howie. Her sister Helen Guelli and her six brothers William, George, Roy, Gordon, Charles and Louis Howie. Also 4 infant great grandchildren.

Doris loved to crochet and gifted many doilies and afghans to family and friends. She worked year round as a vineyardist and retired from Taylor Wine Company. She managed the kitchen at Keuka Yacht Club for several years as well.

Her experience cooking for large groups provided her with the qualifications to work with a wonderful group of people preparing meals at the Presbyterian Church in Bath, where she was a long time member.

Doris is survived by her children: Robert (Shirley) Edwards of Avoca; Gary Edwards of Phelps; Gloria (Michael) Birdsall of Greenville, KY; Nancy Paris of Bath; Janece Edwards of Corning; and Randall (Wendy) Edwards of Barre, VT and her sister-in-law Betty Howie of Florida.

Doris was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Calling hours were observed on Wednesday December 1, 2021 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Bath Presbyterian Church where her Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 2:00pm with Reverend Jim Newman Officiating.

THE CHURCH AND FAMILY HAVE A FACE MASK MANDATE TO ATTEND.

In lieu of flowers please consider a Donation in Doris's name to the Alzheimer's Association 435 E. Henrietta Road Rochester, NY 14620 ATTN: Development Office.
