Garold J. Smith

Garold "Jeff" Smith, 59, passed unexpectedly March 6, 2022. He was born July 9, 1962 in Hornell, NY, the son of Garold E. Smith and Virginia K. Horne (Smith).

Jeff graduated from Haverling High School, Class of 1979. After graduation, Jeff worked at Smith's Auto Body alongside his father Garold E. Smith for several years before taking over the business in 2014 when Gary passed.

Jeff's hobbies were riding motorcycle, spending time with his many friends, boating, camping and just enjoying life day by day. Jeff loved spending time with his grandchildren whenever possible. Sundays were meant for watching Westerns and cartoon classics.

Jeff was quick to make a joke and loved to make people laugh. Jeff would do anything to help someone out if he could. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and husband. Jeff was a loyal friend to many as well. He was well liked by many and loved by the rest. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

Jeff is predeceased by his father Garold E. Smith, grandparents Emerson and Ann Smith, Alexander "Bud" and Lilah Arnold and several aunts and uncles.

Jeff is survived by his mother Virginia Horne (Garden City, SC), wife Tammy Smith (Bath, NY), son Matthew Smith (Loudon, NH), daughter Amanda Feely (Bath, NY), daughter Barbara Bellamy, granddaughter Taylor Bellamy and grandson Dylan Bellamy (Longs, SC), sister Kristin Smith, nephew Rian Maddox, niece Chalisse McClain Augustin and her husband Bradley, and great-niece KayLani (Palm Bay, FL).

Jeff is also survived by several cousins and other extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1:00pm at the V.F.W., 7230 St. Rt. 54, Bath, NY 14810.

Arrangements are being handled by Bond-Davis Funeral Home Bath.
