WAVERLY — Derik Lisi posted a 209.75 average on Saturday at the Section IV Varsity Boys tournament at Waverly Bowling Center on Saturday to earn a spot on the Section IV All-Star team at Gates Bowl in Rochester.

Lisi rolled a 644 series (255, 213, 176) in the morning and a 609 (215, 195, 199) in the afternoon with an average of 202.44 to earn his spot.

“Derik did a great job today and he’s done great all year,” I’m extremely proud of hm. Corning head coach Eric Kizis said. “Derik went to states an eighth grader when the team made it, but this is his first time bowling as an individual.”

Sam McDonald of Elmira, Trevor Kimble (Windsor), Jake Robertson (Tioga) and Zach Bobbett (Union Springs) will join Lisi as the Section IV All-Stars.

McDonald came in second overall with an average of 203.56, Kimble posted a 204.44 average, Robertson had a 199.78 average, Sladdish shot a 197.11 averge and Zach Bobbett had a 196.33 average.

Cameron Luca of Bainbridge Guilford rolled his way to a 194.89 average and will be an alternate for the All-Star team.

The Hawks as a team started the day 167 pins down, but battled back to finish second as a team with a 8,335 pins, behind Waverly who had 8,467 pins.

Anthony Evans finished in 11th place, but posted the high game on the day with a 289.

“As a team, we bowled well and never gave up,” Kizis said.

Elmira finished fourth as a team and Odessa-Montour finished 12th.
