At the end of each sport season, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association honors those teams that excel in the classroom. A Scholar-Athlete team is a team whose GPA (from at least 75% of the roster) is greater than or equal to 90.00%.

For the spring season, the Corning Hawks had seven teams honors includeded the boys baseball team, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys and girls outdoor track and field, boys tennis and girls golf.

Individually, the boys and girls outdoor track and field team put 73 students on the list, the boys tennis team had 22 indiviuals, the girls golf team put 12 on the list, the girls lacrosse team had 12, the baseball and boys lacrosse team had 10 individuals and the softball team had six students.

To qualify for individual honors, a student athlete must have a GPA greater than or equal to 90.

Students that received Scholar-Athlete individual honors will receive a pin from the NYSPHSAA in honor of their accomplishment.

Other teams from around the area also earned Scholar-Athlete team honors.

Horseheads put eight teams on the list including baseball, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys and girls outdoor track and field, softball, boys tennis and girls golf.

Addison's girls track and field team as well as the softball team were named scholar athlete teams.

Bath had eight teams make the cut including baseball, golf, boys lacrosse, boys tennis, boys and girls track and field and softball.

Campbell-Savona had five teams that took home Scholar-Athlete team honors including baseball, softball, boys tennis and the boys and girls track and field teams.

Elmira had four teams including baseball, girls golf, girls lacrosse and softball.
