CORNING - Corning Community College won its fourth game in a row Wednesday at home, 93-51 over Broome Community College.

"We did a great job of maintaining our focus and intensity throughout," Corning head coach Isaac Bushey said.

The Red Barons jumped out to a 57-18 lead after one half and never looked back.

12 different players scored for Corning and the Red Barons were led by Christian Simmons who posted 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Elijah Ramadhan had 19 points and Jon Ward, Nick Craig and Ja’shaun Smith all contributed eight points.

"We have an important game coming up on Saturday so it was great to get a lot of guys an opportunity to play and rest our legs before we play again," said Bushey. 

Corning improves to 9-5 and will host Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 3 p.m. Wednesday in its next contest.

Corning Community College 53, Broome Community College 34

CORNING - The Corning Community College women used a strong start to get past Broome Community College 53-34 Wednesday.

The Red Barons jumped out to a 25-18 lead after two quarters and held Broome to only two points in the third quarter to pull away.

Breanna Palmatier and Blair Wampole each had 12 points to lead Corning and Taylor Sutryk added 11 points.

Wampole registered seven blocks and Palmatier contributed nine rebounds.

The Red Barons improve to 5-7 and will host Fulton-Montogomery Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday in their game game.
