CORNING - Corning captured a Section IV Class A title Thursday with a 12-3 victory over Ithaca and avenged its 2018 10-9 overtime loss to the Little Red.
The Hawks came out on fire with four goals in the first half with two goals from Collin Neally and single goals from Kelly DuPree and Seth Grottenthaler.
Grottenthaler and Quinn Bowler added second quarter goals to give the Hawks a 6-1 advantage at halftime.
Corning rolled in the second half, outscoring Ithaca 6-2.

The Hawks will move on to the New York State Regional game and face either Baldwinsville or West Genesee on June 1 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Stadium in Corning.
