HAVERLING - Haverling topped Keshequa 3-1 Monday in a Livingston County Athletic Association volleyball contest.

The Rams took the first set 26-24 and Keshequa took the second set 25-16. Haverling responded to win the next two games 25-19 and 25-23.

"I'm pleased with the progress we've shown in the last week,” Haverling head coach Stacy Brzezinski said. “The girls were able to put some things together tonight to pull off this victory."

Cardin Taggart had 11 kills and two blocks, Cady Hill posted 10 setter assists and four aces and

Hannah Hoffman contributed seven aces and five digs for the Rams.

Haverling improves to 2-1 with the win and will travel to Wayland-Cohocton today at 6 p.m. in its next contest.

STAC volleyball

Horseads 3, Elmira 0

HORSEHEADS - Horseheads swept Elmira 3-0 Monday in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference volleyball matchup.

Down 9-0 and even 12-2 at the start of game one, the Blue Raiders responded with a 23-2 run to steal the game.

Elmira again got up 5-0 in the second game, but Horseheads again came back to outscore Elmira 25-12 from that point forward.

“I’m very proud of the kids," Horseheads head coach Tim Crout said. "They dug themselves out of a hole the first game. They handle adversity very well. When they start playing with excitement, they are so good. It’s a privilige to coach these kids."

Horseheads cruised to a 25-21 victory in game three.

Thew Blue Raiders improve to 3-0 in STAC play and will host North Penn Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.

SCAA volleyball

Hammondsport 3, Campbell-Savona 0

CAMPBELL - Hammondsport traveled to Campbell-Savona and came away with a 3-0 victory Monday in a Steuben County Athletic Association volleyball game by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-7.

For Hammondsport, Julia Bennett had eight kills and three blocks, Brianna Pratt posted 26 assists and Erika Hilligus contributed six aces and six kills.

Elizabeth Moultrip had three kills for the Panthers and Sierra Andrews recorded nine points and four aces.

Hammondsport improves to 4-0 with the win.

Campbell-Savona Volleyball Tournament

Campbell-Savona hosted its 13th annual volleyball tournament Saturday with a total of 10 teams entered.

There were two pools of 5 teams.

Pool A consisted of Dundee, Campbell-Savona, Arkport, Hornell, and Cuba-Rushford and Pool B had Hammondsport, Wellsville, Haverling, Addison and Odessa-Montour.

Campbell-Savona finished first in its pool with Cuba-Rushford second and Hammondsport finished first in its pool with Wellsville finishing second.

In the semis, Wellsville defeated Campbell-Savona 2- and Hammondsport defeated Cuba-Rushford 2-0.

Hammondsport topped Wellsville in the finals, 2-0.

STAC tennis

Corning 6, Binghamton 1

CORNING - Corning got past Binghamton 6-1 Monday in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference tennis matchup.

The Hawks won three of four singles matches with Riley Davis (7-5, 7-5), Elizabeth Green (6-0, 6-1), and Jessica Pesansky (6-0, 6-1) taking home victories.

Erin Austin and Alexa Cates (6-1, 6-1), Mia Colonna and Darien Beall (6-0, 6-2) as well as Esha Soni and Tatum Treadwell (6-2, 6-0) picked up doubles wins.

Corning improves to 4-1 and will host Elmira Notre Dame today at 4 p.m.
