CORNING - Corning celebrated its senior night Tuesday with a 100-70 win over Binghamton in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference swimming contest.

"We have an amazing group of seniors," Corning head coach Alyssa Helsing said. "Honoring them and their contributions to the team tonight was a privilege."

The most impressive performance of the night came from Corning's Taylor Roberts. Roberts earned a state bid in diving with an 11 dive score of 442.10. Roberts beat the state cut of 440.

"Having Taylor make the state cut at her senior meet surrounded by her team and family was the icing on the cake," said Helsing. "We are very proud of her."

Corning won eight of 12 events on the night. Individually, Kara Peters was a double winner in the 200 yard freestyle (2:17.08) as well as the 500 yard freestyle (6:03.56), Angelina McKane took first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:00.92) and Alina Levine placed first in the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.27).

Corning won all three relays with Levine, Lucy Hilker, Leah Palmesano and McKane winning the 200 yard medley relay (2:02.98), McKane, Poppy Ruland, Audra Hilker and Peters winning the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:51.93) and McKane, Carolina Marian, Ruland and Levine taking first in the 400 yard freestyle relay (4:11.29).

Ava Olsian was a double winner for Binghamton.
