Many local boys and girls soccer teams will be gearing up for sectional runs as Section V sectional tournaments kick off today with Section IV beginning next week.

On the boys side, Haverling earned a number one seed in the class B2 division with its 16-0 regular season record and will host the winner of the No. 8 Wayland-Cohocton and No. 9 Wellsville matchup played Wednesday at 7 p.m.. Haverling will start its sectional title defense Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at home.

In class C1, No. 3 seeded Addison, after its own undefeated season, will play the winner of No. 6 Holley and No. 11 seed Cuba Rushford. The Knights play at home Saturday at 6:30 p.m..

For class C2, No. 9 Campbell- Savona will travel to No. 8 Caledonia-Mumford Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

In class D1, Avoca earned a second-seeded, Jasper-Troupsburg earned a six-seed and Hammondsport is a 10-seed.

Hammondsport travels to No. 7 Honeoye today at 6:30 p.m. Jasper-Troupsburg travels to No. 3 CG Finney at 3 p.m. Friday and Avoca will host the winner of Hammondsport and Honeoye at 3 p.m. Friday.

In D2 action, Bradford earned a 4-seed after an 11-5 season and will host the winner of No. 5 Prattsburgh and twelfth-seeded Friendship at 3 p.m. Friday.

Prattsburgh battles Friendship today at 6 p.m. in Cohocton.

On the girls side, in Class B2, No. 2 seeded Haverling (9-4-3) will host the winner of the No. 7 seed LeRoy and tenth-seeded Attica at 6 p.m. Friday.

In Class C1, No. 7 seeded Addison will take on No. 10 seed Gananda at Campbell-Savona today at 6 p.m. Also in the class, No. 13 Campbell-Savona will battle No. 4 Holley at 6 p.m. today.

In Class D1, No. 9 seeded Jasper-Troupsburg travels to Genesee Valley at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Also, sixth-seeded Hammondsport/Bradford takes on No. 3 Alfred-Almond in Alfred-Almond at 3 p.m. Saturday.

No. 1 seed Avoca will face the winner of No. 8 Belfast and No. 9 Prattsburgh at 3 p.m. Saturday in Class D2.

Section IV soccer playoffs begin next week. In Class AA for the boys, No. 4 Corning travels to No. 1 seeded Ithaca Wednesday Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. while No. 3 Elmira travels to No. 2 Horseheads the same day at 3:30 p.m.

On the girls side in Class AA, No. 2 seeded Corning hosts third-seeded Ithaca at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 29. No. 1 seeded Elmira hosts No. 4 seeded Horseheads Tuesday, October 29 at 3:30 p.m.
