COHOCTON - Haverling got past World Of Inquiry 4-1 in the semifinals of the Section V Class B2 soccer playoffs.

“I thought we played a great game tonight, especially given their skill and quickness,” Haverling head coach Matt Hill said. “I thought we did well defending most of the game. They are a dangerous team.”

Thomas Binkowski had a hat trick for the Rams and and added an assist while Keefer Calkins contributed a goal and an assist.

Haverling led 2-0 at halftime and outscored WOI 2-1 in the second half.

Nay Thar had the lone goal for WOI.

Jordan Deats had four saves in goal for the Rams.

Haverling will play Bishop Kearney at 2 p.m. Saturday in Avon in the Section V Class B2 finals.

Section V volleyball

Wellsville 3, Addison 0

WELLSVILLE - Wellsville sophomore Kaylee Coleman had 11 aces and four kills to lead the Wellsville girls volleyball team in a first round sectional win over Addison, 25-10, 25-11, 25-22 on Wednesday.

Wellsville senior Delayne Mattison had nine assists and three aces while sophomores Marley Adams (two blocks) and Brooklyn Stisser (two digs, two aces) each had four kills. Also for Wellsville, senior Keara Ludu had five kills and two blocks while Mattie Buckley had six assists and two kills. Jaelyn Knapp added two kills.

For Addison, Sarah Gaines (two digs, two assists) and Kaylah Fortier (five digs) each had two kills and Haylee Fortier had four digs and two assists and Tristyn Risley had 11 digs.

No. 6 Wellsville (12-6) advances in the Section V tournament to take on No. 3 Sodus in Sodus on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Haverling 3 Rochester Prep 0

HAVERLING - Haverling swept past Rochester Prep Wednesday by scores of 25-12, 25-8 and 25-20 in the first round of the Section V Class C1 playoffs.

Jessica Dowdle led the Rams with eight setter assists and 10/10 serving, Cadin Taggart added eight kills and a block while Aaliyah Robinson contributed six digs, and Kegyn Mattison posted six kills and four aces.

"It was nice to play our first sectional at home,” Haverling head coach Stacy Brzezinski said. “The girls came out ready to play. We were consistent and able to put together some nice runs.”

Tamura Starkes led Rochester Prep with six digs and three aces and Jahneyce Washington posted seven digs.

Haverling will now travel to play North Rose Wolcott on Friday at 6pm.

Campbell-Savona 3, Rochester Academy Charter 0

CAMPBELL - Cambell-Savona swept Rochester Academy Charter 3-0 by scores of 25-8, 25-10 and 25-9 Wednesday in the first round of the Section V Class D1 playoffs.

The Panthers were led by Giavanna Reed with nine assists, eight points and two aces while Megan Sanford added six kills, two blocks and seven points and Kayla Niciporuk contributed three aces 12 points and three kills. Haylee DeMong added four aces, 10 points and five assists.

Campbell-Savona Campbell - Savona advances to the quarter finals on Saturday playing at home against Oakfield-Alabama.  The match will start at 6:00.
