OREGON - Corning Painted-Post graduate Jessica Lawson helped Stanford cross country capture the PAC-12 Championship over the weekend.

Lawson finished third with a time of 19:38.1 at the 3.7 mile course at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon, as the Cardinal runners took the top three spots.

Teammates Fiona O’Keeffe (19:32.7) and Ella Donaguh (19:34.9) were the only ones to finish ahead of her.

As a team, it was Stanford’s lowest score and it went 1-2-3 for the first time since 2006 and won the PAC 12 Championship for the first time since 2010.

This cross country season, Lawson finished ninth in the John McNichols Invite 5K (16:51.0) on Sept. 21 and 12th in the Wisconsin Invitational 6K on Oct. 18 (20:11.4).

Coming into the PAC-12’s, The Stanford women were ranked No. 2 in the nation and No. 1 in the West Region by the USTFCCCA, their highest ranking in 13 years.

Next up for Lawson and the Cardinal will be the NCAA Western Regional on Nov. 15 followed by the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23.
