Current Buffalo State guard and Corning graduate Liv LeBaron was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference women’s basketball athlete of the week for the week of February third.


LeBaron won the award for the second time this season after leading the Bengals to a 3-0 week in conference play.


The senior exercise science major averaged 27.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in the three-game stretch.


LeBaron continued her domination of the SUNYAC scoring 24 points in a 69-66 win over Brockport, 25 points with 10 rebounds in a 61-43 win over Oswego, and then 34 points to go with 13 rebounds in a 75-65 upset win over Cortland.


LeBaron leads the SUNYAC averaging 23.2 points-per-game, over four points-per-game more than the next closest competitor.


LeBaron is first in field goals made, second in 3-pointers made and third in 3-point percentage. LeBaron also leads the SUNYAC in defensive rebounds and steals.


Buffalo State currently sits in fourth in the SUNYAC standings with an 8-4 conference record and a 12-7 overall record.
