Seafood restaurant coming to Harrington Park in early March
Chef Oggi Echavarria is set to open a seafood restaurant down the block from his first restaurant, Cork & Crust Italian Mediterranean Kitchen, in Harrington Park.
Raw Seafood Bar, scheduled to open in early March, will be a seafood-focused restaurant, which Echavarria says, will have "an Italian twist." He plans to display fish on ice and filet it fresh once ordered. He also plans to offer eight varieties of oysters as well as sushi. There will be grilled meats as well.
The BYOB can accommodate 50 diners indoors and, when the weather warms, 60 outside.
Cork & Crust, which offers brick-oven pizza, seafood, pasta, burgers and salads, opened this past summer, in the spot that had housed Let's Meat Steakhouse, which moved to River Vale.

Echavarria also just launched a "ghost kitchen," offering six varieties of meatballs (View menu) for delivery only via GrubHub, DoorDash and UberEats. He plans to soon offer stuffed garlic knots as another "ghost kitchen" concept. For the unfamiliar, ghost kitchens are exclusively delivery- and takeout-restaurants — often are invisible to the public — working from an established restaurant kitchen or a commissary.
Why open a second restaurant and ghost kitchens during a pandemic?
"I'm getting married in October, and I feel all the wheels are turning," said Echavarria, 35, a self-taught chef, who learned "everything" from working at his uncle's Italian restaurant Rosario's Trattoria in Midland Park. "I learned how to make pizza by age 12. I was the manager by age 15."
Besides Cork & Crust, there is one other restaurant in Harrington Park: Donatella's Ristorante. Raw Seafood Bar will be the borough's third.
Raw Seafood Bar is located at 112 LaRoche Ave., Harrington Park; rawseafoodbar.com. No phone yet.
