Arnot CEO to run sites after merger

Anthony Cooper, CEO of Arnot Ogden Medical Center, will continue in that position when the organization completes its merger with St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Arnot officials announced Tuesday, July 5, Cooper has been named the president and CEO of Arnot Health, an organization which includes the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Ira Davenport Hospital.

Cooper has served as CEO of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center since 1986.

Fred Farley has been promoted to the position of president and chief operating officer of Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Farley is overseeing operations for the Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s hospital operating divisions and support functions.

He has served as chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at Arnot Ogden Medical Center since 1990.

James B. Watson will remain president and chief operating officer at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. He has served as president since 1997.

“We believe we have the organizational structure and experienced management team to help us achieve our full potential,” Watson said. “I am pleased that we are able to use the talents of people from within our organization to lead us into the future.”

On June 16, the New York State Health Department’s Public Health and Health Planning Council approved the certificate of need application to consolidate Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
