CROP Hunger Walk Tally announced

The Bath Area CROP Hunger Walk Committee has announced that the final tally for the 2011 Walk stands at $10, 608.01. This year’s receipts total $474.91 more than last year’s.

One-fourth of the funds will be donated to local food pantries and the Pro-Action Nutrition Program for the Elderly. The remainder will be used for disaster relief and self-help programs for impoverished people the world over.  

The following church congregations and other groups participated in the Walk: AAUW (Bath Branch), Avoca Central School, Bath Baptist Church, Bath Presbyterian Church, Bath Rotary Club, Bath VA Medical Center, Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath, Charles Wescott American Legion Post 173, Dana L. Lyon Middle School, Dormann Library, Hammondsport Presbyterian Church, Hammondsport United Methodist Church, Kanona United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, Linda Pickering, Mitchellsville United Methodist Church, Pulteney Presbyterian Church, St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, St.Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Wheeler United Methodist Church.
