Bath Quota International holds Dec. year-end dinner meeting

Quota International of Bath held their December year-end dinner meeting with President Donna Gerych, presiding. Quota members collected food and supplies to be donated to the Bath SPCA animal shelter, an annual project spearheaded by Pat McCarthy.

In 2011, Rhonda Billmeyer, received the Quotarian of the Year Award, for her continuous enthusiasm and professionalism for promoting activities and service to the club. Jackie Crane, received the Volunteer of the Year Award for her efficiency and continued support of Quota and its projects and chairing the distribution of ear plugs for adults and children at the Steuben County Fair in 2010 and 2011. More than 2,800 ear plugs were distributed in August 2011. Pat McCarthy received the Sparkle Award for her role in expanding Quota’s Service through Membership Excellence project.

In cooperation with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf of Rochester on the RIT campus, Quota sponsored two local students of Hammondsport Central School, Aubrey Hill, 6th Grade, and McKayla Dumbleton, 7th Grade. The program offers young women with hearing difficulty an opportunity to interact with other girls throughout the United States who understand the daily challenges and frustrations that learning with hearing loss can present.

Angie Brush, District 17 Governor said, “We are pleased to be able to sponsor Aubrey and McKayla at the hearing camp to participate in the weeklong summer camp for girls with hearing loss interested in science, technology, engineering and math.”

Quota International of Bath meetings will convene in January where they will continue to pursue their community giving. An international service organization which links its members of all ages to service work, our motto, WE SHARE, has allowed our members to provide services to the deaf, hard of hearing, and/or speech impaired.

The officers are: Donna Gerych, President; Judith Hunter, Vice President; Shirley Smith, Secretary, and Rhonda Billmeyer, Treasurer. The Board of Directors: Norm Brush, Sheila Martin, and Mary Kay Quiggle.
