'Coolest Small Town' voting ends today
Today is the last day in what has been a neck and neck national competition for America’s Coolest Small Town.
The frontrunners, Hammondsport and Beaufort, N.C., were tied at with 33.7 percent of the vote at 4 p.m. Monday, after a day of changing leads by the slimmest of margins. Weaverville, Calif., is in third place with 15.3 percent of the vote.
The two towns are among the 10 remaining out of the original 647 towns nominated in the annual contest is sponsored by Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel magazine.
The town deemed the “coolest” will be featured in the 2012 September-October issue of Budget Travel magazine.
