Multiple charges

BATH | James Michael Plank, 39, of 103 Pine St., was charged June 17 with second-degree criminal contempt, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment.

Assault

BATH | Robert Lee McKown, 21, of 6 Chestnut St., Apt. 202, was charged June 18 with ththird-degree assault.

Promoting prison contraband

BATH | Deputies report the arrest of Garrett J. Aiken an inmate at the Steuben County Jail. Aiken was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband. Allegedly Aiken had in his possession a jail house tooth brush that he had been sharpening on the end, among other items. This was found after a sweep of the cell block, searching all cells for contraband. Aiken was arraigned in the town of Bath court and remanded back to the Steuben County Jail. Further charges pending.

Possession of marijuana

HORNELLSVILLE | Deputies report the arrest of a 16 year old Arkport resident on Wednesday. Deputies arrested the youth after a traffic stop on Seneca Road in the town of Hornellsville. The youth was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Hornellsville court at a later date. The youth was also issued traffic citations.

DWI

ERWIN | Deputies report the arrest of a town of Corning resident June 18. Rusty A. Farrell of Main St., Corning was arrested after a traffic stop on State Route 415 in the town of Erwin. Farrell was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 percent and other vehicle and traffic law violations. Deputies processed Farrell and released him to re-appear in the town of Erwin court at a later date.

Criminal mischief

WAYLAND | Deputies report the arrest of two 17 year old Wayland youths in the early morning hours on June 18. Steuben County 911 received several calls from residents of 16 Main St. in the village of Wayland reporting that they hear people on the roof of their apartment building. A deputy arrived on scene and detained the youth’s soon after the first call was received. It was discovered that the youths allegedly damaged a vehicle on Main St. in the village by throwing rock debris from the rooftop. The youths were arraigned in the village of Wayland court on charges of trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Both youths were ordered to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 property bond. The youths are set to reappear in the village of Wayland court at a later date.

Grand larceny

CORNING | Deputies report the arrest of a town of Corning resident June 16. Dale A. Burnett, 59, of Brown Hollow Road, Corning was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Allegedly while working as park manager at Butler trailer park, Burnett was withholding rent money paid by the tenants. Burnett failed to turn the rent money over to the park owner in an amount exceeding $100. Burnett will appear in the town of Corning court at a later date.

DWI

DANSVILLE | Raymond N. Deslandes, 58, Dansville, NY, was arrested June 12, charged with driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content .08 percent or greater and failure to stop for a stop sign. Deslandes will answer charges in Dansville Village Court on a later date.
