BATH | Matthew Lee Porter, 20, of 6732 Lake Salubria Drive, was charged Dec. 3 with second-degree harassment.



• DANSVILLE | Deputies report the arrest of a town of Cohocton resident Tuesday. Shawn S. Knez, 39, of State Route 21 was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant issued out of the village of Dansville at his residence. Knez is charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and a seat belt violation. Knez was turned over to the Dansville Police Department to be processed on the warrant.

• DANSVILLE | Deputies report the arrest of a Dansville man on a warrant for a violation of probation. Daniel A. Gordon, 29, of State Route 36 was arrested and held in the Steuben County Jail pending arraignment in Steuben County Court.


HORNELLSVILLE | Deputies report of a two car motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of State Route 36 and County Route 70A in the town of Hornellsville. A vehicle operated by Kendall R. Winslow, 17, of Bath was south on State Route 36 when as he approached the intersection two vehicles were stopped in traffic. Winslow attempted to avoid the vehicles and was struck behind be a vehicle operated by Lester J. Olguin, 18, of Hronell. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported. No charges were filed.

Unlawful possession

HORNBY | Deputies report the arrest of a town of Hornby resident Friday, Dec. 2. Ashley N. Tong, 18,

of Borden Hollow Road was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after deputies investigated the complaint of a suspicious vehicle at Hornby Park. Tong was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in the town of Hornby court at a later date.

Superior court warrant

ERWIN/CORNING | Steuben County District Attorney’s Drug Initiative reports the arrest of a Lindley man. Jeffery N. Cawley, 24, of Ryers Creek Road, Lindley, as arrested on a superior court warrant for two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Allegedly Cawley sold crack cocaine to another person during the mid part of the year 2011 while in the town of Erwin and the city of Corning. Cawley was arraigned in Steuben County Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail with bail set at $50,000/$100,000.


HORNELL | Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on State Route 36 Thursday afternoon, Dec. 1. The driver of the vehicle was Amanda Eplin, 22, of Hornell. Eplin was traveling South on State Route 36 when she allegedly fell asleep. Eplin was issued a ticket for failure to keep right. In the vehicle with Eplin were three children who were uninjured. All four occupants of the vehicle were checked over by Hornell Ambulance and released.

Several charges

HORNELL | Depuites arrested Alexis N. Baumgarten, 17, of Hornell for disorderly conduct, harassment and attempted assault. Baumgarten was issued appearance tickets to appear in the town of Hornellsville court at a later date.
