Assault

BATH | Jeffrey Allen Forney, 42, of 2260 State Route 14, Watkins Glen, was charged Monday with second-degree assault.

Warrant

CAMPBELL | Deputies report the arrest of a Campbell resident Wednesday. Deputies arrested Karen A. Burton, 27, of McNutt Run Road, Campbell. Burton was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear. Burton was arraigned in the town of Erwin court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail unable to post $500 cash bail, $1,000 property bond. She will reappear in the town of Erwin court at a later date.

Bench warrant/resisting arrest

BATH | Deputies report the arrest of Rose L. Puma, 31, no address given, on Wednesday for a bench warrant for felony DWI and misdemeanor resisting arrest. Puma was arrested at the Steuben County Public Defender’s Office where she went to turn herself in. Puma was remanded to the Steuben County Jail to return at a later date to answer to charges.

Violation of Probation Warrant

BATH | Deputies report the arrest of Lyndon J. Allen, 47, of E. Washington Street Ext., Bath on Tuesday. Allen was arrest for violation of probation warrant while at the Steuben County Office Building. Allen was arraigned in the village of Bath court and released on his own recognizance to answer the charges.

Arrest Warrant

CAMERON | Deputies report the arrest of a Cameron resident Tuesday night. Jesse F. Scott, 30, of Haley Drive was taken into custody on an arrest warrant, issued under article 4 of the Family Court Act. Allegedly Scott failed to pay court ordered child support since August of 2011. Scott was arraigned in the town of Cameron court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail after being unable to post the $500 undertaking. Scott is to appear in Steuben County Family court at a later date.

DWI

WAYNE | Deputies report the arrest of Leann M. Tefft, 51, of Keuka Village Road in the town of Wayne Dec. 21. Tefft was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Wayne court at a later date.

Criminal contempt

HARTSVILLE | Deputies report the arrest of Dennoe Carney, 30, of Bath for second-degree criminal contempt. Deputies state Carney was arrested after he violated a court order to stay away from a residence on County Route 61 in the town of Hartsville. Carney was located in the residence. He was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in the town Hartsville court where he was remanded to the Steuben County Jail.

Stolen vehicle report

HORNELL | Deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the parking lot of K&K Auto at 1200 County Route 66 in Hornell. Deputies report that the victim left the vehicle in the parking lot around 5 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 27 so it could be serviced at the business on Wednesday morning.

The vehicle was a 1999 Subura Impreza color red. Deputies canvassed the area and within an hour found the vehicle on Elm Street in the city of Hornell. The vehicle was returned to the owner with no damage.

Deputies are asking if anyone noticed the vehicle leaving K&K Auto on the Tuesday Evening and if anyone noticed the vehicle being driven by the suspect to which it left the vehicle in the city of Hornell.

MVA Investigation

HARTSVILLE | Deputies responded to a call concerning a damaged utility pole in the early morning hours of Dec. 23 near the intersection of County Route 61 and Route 108 in the town of Hartsville. Deputies arrived on scene at 5:35 a.m. to find a NYSEG utility pole sheared off at its base and there were obvious signs of a motor vehicle accident but no vehicles were on scene. Tire tracks were located at the scene along with vehicle debris. It is believed that a vehicle traveling North on County Route 61 crossed the opposing lane, left the roadway and collided with the utility pole. The vehicle will be a Nissan manufacturer year 2005-2012 with front end damage. The operator is believed to have been injured in the collision due to blood located around the scene. Endangering welfare of child/harassment

WOODHULL | Deputies report the arrest of Ernestine M. Tomeno, 39, of Woodhull following a domestic dispute on Sunday, Decemeber 25 around 10 p.m. in the town of Woodhull. Deputies took Tomeno into custody the following day and charged her with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of second-degree harassment. Tomeno was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Woodhull court at a later date.

DANSVILLE | Robert M. Newcomb, 21, Dansville, NY, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and permitting an unlicensed operator to drive on Dec. 19. Newcomb will appear in Dansville Village Court to answer charges on a later date.?Issuing bad check?ORTH DANSVILLE | Ronnie W. Knapp, 44, Dansville, NY, was cited Dec. 21, for issuing a bad check. Knapp will answer charges in North Dansville Town Court on a later date.
