A Bath woman was sentenced Wednesday to 60 days in jail on charges of second-degree criminal contempt, and endangering the welfare of a child. Both charges are Class A misdemeanors.

Kym Wilson, 32, of 147 N. Main St., Hornell also was sentenced by Bath Town Justice Chauncey Watches to three years probation, with a three-year order of protection filed against her.

Wilson was found guilty by a jury on the endangerment charges last year after state police alleged she choked a five-year child when she picked the child up by the neck in November 2010. At the time of the allegations, Wilson lived at 19 Hudson St.

Police declined to say whether Wilson had been charged with similar incidents in the past. If Wilson had been arrested for other actions, those allegations would have been sealed by court order, police said.

The second-degree criminal contempt charges were filed on April 28, 2011.
