Five Star Bank presented a $500 donation to the Corning-Painted Post track team during a ceremony at the bank’s Erwin branch. The donation was awarded as part of the bank’s corporate charitable giving program, which primarily focuses on children and education.

Jeff Kenefick, regional president for Five Star Bank, and Five Star Bank Erwin Branch Manager Zach Knapp presented a check to Andrew Cartwright, team coach, and Stephen Rossettie and Mia Bates, track team members. The donation will help fill a gap due to school budget cuts. Cartwright noted that it will be used to fund the purchase of equipment for students who may otherwise be unable to participate.

“Five Star Bank is proud to support youth activities that help students learn and grow in the communities we serve,” said Kenefick. “Having the opportunity to contribute to programs for our youth is part of what being a community bank is all about.”
