Bath 5/6 Lacrosse has a great month of June

Over the last couple of weeks, Bath hosted Horseheads, and then traveled to the Fingerlakes Open tournament in Horseheads, Bloomfield, Midlakes and finished by hosting Penn Yan. The team’s record over this period was 6-1-1 and their overall record for the year is 14-3-1. They play in their last regular season tournament this weekend in Geneva at the “Battle of the Boz”

The game against Horsheads was a hard fought battle back and forth until late in the game Bath pulled away with an 8-6 victory. Scoring for Bath was led by Jonathan Deats with two goals and two assists. Tyler Finch scored two goals. Goals were also scored by Connor DiDomineck, Carl Rumsey, Brandon Finch, and Ethan Briggs. Dylan Dickson, Nathan Birch, Zach Roberts and Blake McCarthy each had an assist. Connor Cupp had 12 saves.

On that Saturday in the Finger Lakes Open, Bath faced a very strong Pal-Mac team and lost their only game of the day by a 5-1 score. The team came right back hard in the next game and defeated Geneva 6-1 in a shortened game due to lightening. The third game found Bath facing Bloomfield in a rematch which they won by a 6-4 score. The team was asked to play an additional game and defeated Horsheads by a 9-8 score. Four games in four hours was a lot to ask of these young warriors, but they met the challenge head on and were victorious. Scoring on the day was led by Jonathan Deats with six goals and Connor DiDomineck and Michael Schumacher each had five goals and three assist. Tyler Finch and Ethan Brigg each had two goals with Finch adding four assist. Goals were also scored by Nathan Birch and Matt Underhill. Assist for the day we provided by Dalton Krisher, Carl Rumsey, Tyler Fullmer, Dylan Dickson, Brandon Finch, Zach Pifer, and Blake McCarthy. The defensive unit of Brandon Clark, Zach Roberts, Dana Krisher and Jerimiah Kinner stepped up and helped in the victory. The two goalies for the day were Trey Kinner with 6 saves and Connor Cupp with 24 saves.

Monday of last week found the team traveling to Bloomfield for the third meeting of the two teams. It was a hard fought battle that the teams finished in a 6-6 tie. Scoring for Bath was done by Connor DiDomineck with five goals and one assist.  Jonathan Deats had one goal and one assist. Tyler Finch and Zach Roberts each added an assist. Goalie Trey Kinner had four saves and then Connor Cupp had two saves.

On Tuesday the team traveled to Midlakes and came home with a 13-7 victory. Scoring was led by Tyler Finch with four goals and an assist while his brother Brandon Finch added three goals and an assist. Other scores were Ethan Briggs with two goals and an assist, Jonathan Deats with a goal and three assist. Goals were also scored by Nathan Birch, Connor Cupp, and Michael Schumacher. Assist were added Connor Didomineck and Dylan Dickson. Goalies Trey Kinner had seven saves while Connor Cupp had four saves.

Finally, the team hosted their last Rochester Area Lacrosse League (RALL) game of the season and sported a 14-12 victory over visiting Penn Yan. The team finished four and one in their first season of competition in the league. Leading in scoring for the day was Connor DiDomineck with four goals and two assist. Following were Tyler Finch and Jonathan Deats with three goals and an assist each. Brandon Finch, Michael Schumacher, and Ethan Briggs each added a goal and two assist. Scoring was also done by Dylan Dickson with a goal and Carl Rumsey, Caleb Daughty, Blake McCarthy and Zach Pifer each had an assist. Goalie Connor Cupp had 12 saves on the day.

The team travels to Geneva to play in the “Battle of the Boz” tournament this weekend and then prepares for the 1812 Shoot out tournament in July.
