Wrestling/Horseheads Tournament

HORSEHEADS | Joe Rosko recorded the 100th win of his high school career Saturday, going 7-1 in Horseheads’ dual tournament.

Rosko’s 1:03-minute pin against Fulton’s Michael Eddy in the 132-pound class gave him the milestone victory. His teammate Devon Paul went 4-1 on the day, while the Panthers finished 0-9 overall.

Campbell-Savona will host Canisteo-Greenwood on Tuesday.

Prattsburgh 39/Campbell-Savona 35

BATH | Nicole Wise scored a game-high 16 points to go along with 12 rebounds Saturday, leading Prattsburgh to a four-point win against Campbell-Savona.

Becky Seager scored eight points for the Vikings (1-3), while Cassie Socolo, Shana Egresi and Michaela Sutryk each chipped in four points. Campbell-Savona (0-2) was led by Lekysha Snyder’s 14 points and seven steals, while Shirlyn Poplaski and Erica Baas each scored six points.

Campbell-Savona will host Alfred-Almond on Wednesday, while Prattsburgh hosts Hammondsport on Wednesday.

Boys Volleyball

Genesee Valley 3/Prattsburgh 1

PRATTSBURGH | Boys volleyball debuted at Prattsburgh Saturday, but the host Vikings fell to Genesee Valley by scores of 25-7, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-17.

Frank Presher recorded 14 assists, nine service points and three aces, while Josh Presher knocked down eight kills and Jacob Kula had 16 points, six aces and three assists. Luke Cutmeiler led Genesee Valley with nine kills, three aces and three blocks.

“We’re real excited. The boys have asked for years and the other volleyball coaches say boys are always asking them when their going to start a boys team,” said Teresa Stockton, who coached the Prattsburgh girls team before taking over the start-up boys program. “I think we’ll see more teams coming in soon.

“The boys are picking it up real quickly. They love it, having a lot of fun with it.”

Prattsburgh will visit Scio on Thursday.
