The Buffalo Bills have already clinched the AFC East and are looking to sweep the New England Patriots for the first time since 1999.

1st quarter

New England received the ball first and running back Sony Michel broke a 29-yard run on the second play from scrimmage. Michel was then dropped for a 3-yard loss by defensive tackle Ed Oliver and New England dialed up a trick play with Damiere Byrd dropping Cam Newton's pass near the end zone. New England settled for a 45-yard Nick Folk field goal. New England 3, Buffalo 0

Buffalo kick returner Andre Roberts, who was named a Pro Bowl starter as a return specialist this week, took the ensuing kickoff 49 yards. Buffalo converted its first third-down with a 2-yard run by Isaiah McKenzie. Quarterback Josh Allen completed for 17 yards to Gabriel Davis, who fumbled but recovered at the Patriots' 25-yard line. Running back Devin Singletary ran for 4 yards and took a short pass 10 yards to set up first-and-10 from the 11. Singletary gained 6 yards on a reception, Roberts picked up 2 yards on a shovel pass and Singletary lost a yard on third-and-2 to set up rookie kicker Tyler Bass' 22-yard field goal. New England 3, Buffalo 3

New England went three-and-out on its second possession, with defensive end Quinton Jefferson sacking Newton for a 13-yard loss on third down. Patriots punter Jake Bailey punted 62 and Roberts returned it 7 yards to the Bills' 30.

Buffalo converted a fake punt on its second drive. Facing a fourth-and-five, the Bills gave a direct snap to safety Jaquan Johnson, who threw to a wide open Siran Neal for 13 yards. New England didn't have a player line up on Neal, who caught the pass uncovered along the right sideline. Buffalo went for on the following fourth-and-1 and Allen kept it for a 22-yard run. On the next play, Allen threw to running back Taiwan Jones in the end zone but Jones dropped the pass. Rookie running back Zack Moss bulled ahead for 11 yards up the middle and defensive tackle Adam Butler jumped offsides for the second time of the game, negating an interception by cornerback J. C. Jackson.

2nd quarter

Buffalo opened the quarter with first-and-goal from the 5 and tight end Dawson Knox dropped a pass in the back left corner for the end zone. Moss carried a defender into the end zone on second down for the touchdown. Buffalo 10, New England 3

New England started with terrible field position when Donte Moncrief was tackled at its 9-yard line on the kickoff return. The Patriots got a first down on a pass interference penalty on Buffalo cornerback Tre'Davious White. James White ran for 8 yards, Michel picked up 6 on the ground and Newton completed an 7-yard screen pass to Byrd. Michel ripped off a 21-yard run, J. J. Taylor sprinted up the middle for 29 yards and Newton evaded pressure and ping-ponged into the end zone from 12 yards out. Folk missed the extra point. Buffalo 10, New England 9

Allen threw a beautiful pass down the seam for Knox for 24 yards to start Buffalo's possession. The Bills went for it on another fourth-and-1 and Knox caught a deflected pass for a 12-yard gain. Allen scrambled for 11 yards on third-and-7 to get Buffalo in the red zone.

McKenzie took a catch-and-run 13 yards and tight end Lee Smith caught a 4-yard touchdown pass. Buffalo 17, New England 9

New England went three-and-out, as Newton went 0-for-3 and punted. Roberts returned the punt 6 yards to the Bills' 33.

Buffalo struck again in just 47 seconds. Allen hit Stefon Diggs for 17 yards and then Allen stayed in the pocket to throw a strike to Diggs for a 50-yard touchdown. Diggs caught the ball at the 36 and outran the Patriots' defense. The Bills have scored on each of their first four possessions. Buffalo 24, New England 9

New England converted two first downs on third-and-short but couldn't get past its own 39-yard line. Bailey punted 46 yards and the Bills kneeled for the final play of the half.

3rd quarter

Allen started the second half on fire, too, hitting Knox along the right sideline for 15 yards. Diggs gained 11 more on a screen pass to cross midfield. Allen spread the ball around to wide receiver Cole Beasley (7 yards), Davis (10 yards) and Diggs (10) and put an exclamation point on the drive with an 18-yard TD to Diggs. Diggs caught a pass over the middle, absorbed the contact between the cornerback and safety and walked into the end zone. Buffalo 31, New England 9

New England's blasé offensive performance continued as the Patriots went three-and-out. Buffalo punter Corey Bojorquez, the least used punter in the league, finally saw some action, punting 62 yards to the Patriots' 5.

New England benched Newton and put in Jarrett Stidham. Buffalo rookie defensive end A.J. Epenesa was called for roughing the passer on third down to keep the Patriots from going three-and-out. The Patriots couldn't get past the Bills' 47 and punted to the 5-yard line.

4th quarter

The Bills didn't let up. Allen kept the ball in the air, going 10 plays and 95 yards, capping the drive with Diggs' third touchdown reception of the game. Allen went 6 of 6 for 76 yards on the drive. Buffalo 38, New England 9

The teams traded punts and New England punted for the sixth straight time. Buffalo got the ball with 5:44 left and kept the ball on the ground. Zack Moss ran for two first downs, including a 12-yard carry to the Buffalo 43. The Bills ran out the clock. Final: Buffalo Bills 38, New England Patriots 9
