Final score, recap, highlights: Buffalo Bills 56, Miami Dolphins 26

The Buffalo Bills can clinch the No. 2 seed in the AFC with a victory over the Miami Dolphins on in Week 17 on Sunday. Miami can secure a wild-card spot with a win. 

Buffalo's inactives include Tre'Davious White, Jerry Hughes, Cole Beasley and Mario Addison.

1st quarter

Buffalo received the ball first and running back Devin Singletary ran for 5 yards out of a direct snap. Quarterback Josh Allen completed passes to wide receivers John Brown, Isaiah McKenzie and Stefon Diggs to get near midfield. Miami linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel sacked Allen for an 11-yard loss. Dolphins corrnerback Byron Jones nearly intercepted Allen on a diving attempt but was called out of bounds. Miami challenged the ruling and the play was overturned, giving Jones an interception at the Bills' 41-yard line. 

Miami opened with a 3-yard run by running back Myles Gaskin and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed a short pass to tight end Durham Smythe for 12 yards. Bills cornerback Taron Johnson was injured on the play but walked off under his own power. Tremaine Edmunds sacked Tagovailoa for a loss on 9 yards on the ensuing third down and kicker Jason Sanders made a 49-yard field goal. Miami 3, Buffalo 0

Buffalo started its second possession at its 24-yard line. Running back Zack Moss rushed for 4 yard and then bruised his way for 13 yards on a catch-and-run. The Bills didn't gain another first down and Corey Bojorquez punted 57 yards into the end zone. 

The Dolphins were called for a false start on first down. Wide receiver Devante Parker couldn't come up with a diving catch and Gaskin caught a pass for 6 yards and Parker made a 8-yard catch but was just shy of the firs down marker. Matt Haack punted 32 yards to the Bills' 39. 

Buffalo went three-and-out and Bojorquez pinned Miami inside the 1-yard line with a beautiful 54-yard punt. The Dolphins only picked up 7 yards and Haack punted 42 yards to midfield. 

Allen completed to Diggs for 5 yards before the end of the quarter.

2nd quarter

Allen opened the quarter with a 5-yard pass to SIngletary to pass Drew Bledsoe for the Bills' franchise record for single-season passing yards. Diggs gained 8 yards on a catch and followed it with an 18-yard catch-and-run. Allen split two defenders on a scramble for a 4-yard run inside the 10. Allen finished off the drive with a 7-yard TD pass to McKenzie. Buffalo 7, Miami 3 

Miami tight end Adam Shaheen made a 22-yard catch but the Dolphins were forced to punt for the third straight time. 

Buffalo kept its offensive starters in, with Diggs making catches of 8 and 16 yards — Miami defensive tackles was flagged for unnecessary roughness to tack on another 15 yards — before Allen found McKenzie for 19 yards. Brown caught a pass for 6 yards and Allen and McKenzie connected for their second touchdown of the game. Buffalo 14, Miami 3 

Miami went three-and-out again and McKenzie continued his career game, weaving 84 yards on a punt return for his third overall touchdown of the game. It's the first punt return touchdown for the Bills since 2014. Buffalo 21, Miami 3 

Down 18 points, Miami finally showed a sense of urgency. Tagovailoa completed passes to Lynn Bowden and Gaskin and Bufflao cornerback Levi Wallace was flagged for defensive pass interference. Miami pulled out a trick play, with Bowden catching a pass and then throwing across the field for Gaskin, who went 34 yards down the left sideline to the Bills' 9. Miami couldn't punch it in with goal to go. Bowden lost 7 yards on a carry and Sanders kicked a 32-yard field goal. Buffalo 21, Miami 6 

The Bills kept Allen in the game for their two-minute offense and he went to work, hitting Diggs for 16 yards and Brown for 28 yards. Allen threw a 32-yard TD pass to bomb to put an exclamation point on the half. Buffalo needed less than a minute to strike. Buffalo 28, Miami 6

3rd quarter

Tagovailoa connected with DeVante parker for three straight first-down completions to start the half, including a 25-yarder to advance MIami to the Buffalo 20-yard line. Tagovailoa passed to Parker again for 6 yards to set up first-and-goal from the 9. Buffalo nearly held on fourth down but cornerback Josh Norman was called for pass interference in the end zone to give the Dolphins first-and-goal from the 1. Gaskin ran up the middle for the short touchdown. Buffalo 28, Miami 13 

Buffalo backup quarterback Matt Barkley started the second half. Rookie running back Antonio Williams ran hard for 18 yards and Barkley passed to McKenzie for 15 yards but the Bills punted to the Dolphins' 11. Tagovailoa threw a pick six on the first play of the ensuing possession. Cornerback Josh Norman forced Parker off his feet near the line of scrimmage and then picked off Tagovailoa, going 16 yards for the score. Buffalo 35, Miami 13 

Gaskin started the possession with a 7-yard carry and Tagovailoa scrambled for a yard to earn a first down. Tagovailoa scrambled for 16 yards to cross midfield but Isaiah Ford dropped a pass over the middle on third-and-9. Norman broke up a pass intended for Parker on fourth down. 

Buffalo kept the ball in the air, with Barkley finding tight end Dawson Knox for a 19-yard completion. Barkley threw two incompletions before he was intercepted by cornerback Xavien Howard. It's Howard's 10th interception of the season. 

Miami moved into the red zone again but continued to struggle on third down. Tagovailoa hit Parker (16 yards), Gaskin (11 yards) and Parker (31 yards) but on third-and-7 from the 20 his pass sailed high, was deflected and then intercepted by safety Dean Marlowe. Marlowe returned the pick 16 yards to the Bills' 21-yard line.  

4th quarter

Buffalo kept its foot on the gas with a five-play, 79-yard touchdown drive. Barkley threw a bomb down the right sideline to rookie wide receiver Gabriel Davis for 51 yards and Williams ran off tackle 18 yards for his first career touchdown. Buffalo 42, Miami 13 

Marlowe intercepted Tagovailoa for the second time in as many Dolphins' offensive plays. Marlowe took the pick 23 yards to the Dolphins' 25. Williams lowered his shoulder for 20 yards on a catch-and-run. The rookie plunged forward for 3 more yard sand then dove into the end zone for his second TD of the game. Buffalo 49, Miami 13 

Miami went nine plays and 75 yards for a touchdown. Tight end Mike Gesicki hauled in a 23-yard catch over the middle and running back Salvon Ahmed ran 16 yards for the TD. The pass to Parker for a two-point conversion attempt was incomplete. Buffalo 49, Miami 19

Buffalo went three-and-out and Miami turned it over for the fourth time. Wide receiver Mack Collins made a 5-yard catch but fimbled at the Bills' 44. It was recovered by defensive tackle Harrison Phillips. The Bills needed one paly to score off the turnover. Barkley heaved a 56-yard TD pass to Davis, who stretched for the catch and regained his footing enough to get into the end zone. Buffalo 56, Miami 19

Tagovailoa threw a 25-yard TD pass to rookie wide receiver Malcolm Perry. Buffalo 56, Miami 26
